Competition Sections, Tune Selections and Prizes

| 2. Under 15 | 2/4 March (2 part tune min) | Pewter Quaich and prizes of $30, $20 and $10 |
| 3. Under 18 | Strathspey and Reel (2 part tune min) | Pewter Quaich and prizes of $30, $20 and $10 |
| 4. Under 21 | March, Strathspey and reel (2 part tune min) | Pewter Quaich and prizes of $30, $20 and $10 |
| 5. Under 26 | Two Jigs ( 4 part tune min) | Pewter Quaich and prizes of $30, $20 and $10 |
| 6. Open | Medley selection (4 to 6 min) | The Bill Green OAM Memorial Trophy and prizes of $40, $30 and $20 |
Play off for the Grand Final:
The top two from each age group 1 to 5 go through to the Grand Final and play for The Silver Tassie and a prize of $100, for recognition as
Australasian Young Piper of the Year.
All finalists must play 2/4 march
(2 part tune min.)
Closing date for entries: Friday 25 September 2009
Entry fee: $5 for each event (1-6)
All competitors must wear Highland dress, including a Glengarry or Balmoral.
All tunes must be played in full. Except for section 6 – Open – The Australasian Young Piper Competition is an age-based competition, reflecting its dedication to junior pipers.
Your age section is decided by your birth date relative to the date of the competition.
You can compete only in one age section, but you can elect to compete in the Open section too if you wish.
